Eddy Merckx EMX-3

Eddy Merckx EMX-3

This was my first go at riding a proper road bike after a year or so owning a hybrid and having a lot of fun with it. After much deliberation the Eddy Merckx EMX-3 with Campagnolo Athena was my choice, was I happy this is where my money was going, well… aesthetically it is a beautiful machine with a mainly black frame, with nice red and white detailing. Made out of carbon fibre this bike is no heavyweight, it rides as smooth as you would hope, and expect at this kind of price point. I covered over 2,000km on this bike over a year and loved every minute of it. This being my first foray into road bikes I was concerned that my comfort levels would deteriorate due to changing in my physical position on the bike – but I need not worry.

This bike took me on my first 100km ride last year, the only thing lacking was my fitness, but it carried me through, over the year of using and enjoying this bike I never had to replace any parts, even the tyres never needed replacing, and no punctures suffered. The bike eased me through many km’s and gave me many miles of smiles. This is one very sturdy, strong and comfortable bike. Simply put it is stunning!
